National S’mores Day
It’s summertime. The weather is warm, and the sun is out. Neighbors are getting the grills out for barbeques. Don’t think this time of the year can get any better? Did I forget to mention that National S’mores Day happens to take place on August 10th? Summer just got that much better!
S’mores are delicious treats made around campfires everywhere. To make this dessert, you only need three ingredients and one tool. You will need marshmallows, chocolate, graham crackers, and a stick. First, you put the marshmallow on the stick and roast it above the fire. You take the marshmallow out when it starts to turn golden brown or when it starts to char depending on your personal preference. Once the marshmallow is roasted, you squash it between two graham crackers with a piece of chocolate in the middle. Easy enough!
Making the Ultimate S’more
Since it’s a holiday, celebrate National S’more day with some pizzazz. There are so many things to add to s’mores, the possibilities are endless! To celebrate this holiday with spirit, make s’more pops by putting marshmallows on a skewer or toothpick, dipping it in melted chocolate, and sprinkling crushed graham crackers over it. Viola! The perfect finger food for your National S’mores Day party. Try substituting the chocolate bar with your favorite candy, such as Reese’s or Snickers. You can also use cookies for the outer layers instead of graham crackers.
