Whether we are hosting a corporate catering event or a wedding event, one thing is certain — we’re having tons of fun helping our clients throw the perfect event. While it may look like all fun and games, we’re extremely serious and cautious about food safety and handling. Did you know Saint Germain Catering is one of the few ServSafe certified catering companies in the area?

 

ServSafe is a food safety training and certificate program administered by the National Restaurant Association. The program is accredited by ANSI and the Conference for Food Protection. Every employee at Saint Germain Catering is ServSafe certified to ensure the best service and top quality food for our clients. The courses our employees take to become certified discuss foodborne illnesses, including information on specific foodborne pathogens and biological toxins such as shellfish poisoning, contamination, and food allergens. Prevention is also covered, with information regarding purchasing and receiving guidelines, food preparation, holding and serving guidelines, food safety management systems, sanitation guidelines for facilities and equipment, and integrated pest control, as well as food safety regulations and employee training. In fact, we have a ServSafe administrator that completes monthly walk-throughs with our staff, helping guide them throughout the kitchens to ensure best practice standards.
